Chequered Garter Snake
(Thamnophis Marcianus Marcianus)
The Chequered Garter is a greenish color with a checkered pattern down its back, and has yellowish stripes on
the back and lower sides, the underside is pale with dark smudges.
The Chequered garter gives birth to live young between May and October. Their diet will include fish, amphibians,
lizards smaller snakes, and small mammals. They can be found near waterways in southeast California, Arizona,
Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Mexico.
