Common Garter Snake
(Thamnophis Sirtalis Sirtalis)
The Eastern Common Garter has a black back with a white stripe down the middle, red scales just under the
yellow stripes, a yellowish underside, and a black tongue. This snake can be found nearly everywhere in
the U.S.A, near rivers, open fields, woods, parks, and even gardens throughout Ontario, The snake can grow up to 28".
The diet consists of small mammals, frogs, and fish.
