Wandering Garter
(Thamnophis elegans vagrans)
The Wandering garter snake has a dull brownish upperbody with a yellowish middorsal stripe down both sides.
Its diet is fish, frogs and other aquatic vertebrates, insects, and earthworms.
The Wandering snake can be found near ponds and rivers in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
